Jericho parliamentary delegation visited the Japanese high-level evening of Wednesday, 10/08/2016 agro-industrial city of Jericho where the delegation included Deputy Takuya Hirai MP Ranataro Ogata and deputy Masaaki Taira.
The delegation was received by Dr. Ali Shaath, Chief Executive Officer of the General Authority for Industrial Cities and Free Zones, Engineer Khalid currency Director Jericho industrial area of operations, and representatives of the development of agro-industrial city of Jericho company.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Ali Shaath welcomed the delegation and gave Outline of the body and the role they play in the implementation of the Industrial Cities Programme in Palestine, and expressed thanks to the Japanese government for its continued support of the State of Palestine in general industrial and Medinhariha agricultural in particular, through the Peace and Prosperity Corridor Initiative.
He briefed D.hos delegation on the progress of work in Jericho agro-industrial city, also it gave an explanation on the problems and difficulties faced by the operation of the first phase of Jericho agro-industrial city, explaining that he had been the completion of the first phase of the agro-industrial city on an area of 140 dunums of fifty plant and processing began in the second phase. As the D.hos on behalf of the Palestinian government, thanking the Japanese government and people for their support for the state of Palestine.
For his part, the Japanese parliamentary delegation pointed out that this visit aims to see the reality faced by the Palestinian people, and to try to work to help the Palestinian people and stand by them in their just cause to achieve a Palestinian state-building, which is the continuation of previous visits by Japanese institutions to Vstin.
Where the Authority organized a field trip for the Japanese delegation in order to learn the functioning of the operating plants within the agro-industrial city, such as factory Baloulia herbal extracts and company FMH Plastic Industries Baladhav to Hawamdeh company for the mobilization and distribution of natural mineral water, also included round trip to a number of factories under construction in the industrial city Agricultural.
This is Jericho agro-industrial city and one of the most important projects that the Japanese government-backed Palestine where it came from within the Corridor for Peace initiative and prosperity launched by Japan’s former Prime Minister Mr. Junichiro Kyuzma 2006, in order to support the Palestinian economy and head with the components of continuity and prosperity. And take over the Palestinian Government attaches great importance to this project relying upon to run more than 3,000 jobs in the first phase.
In this regard, the Commission indicated that the administration of the Palestinian government attaches great importance to the establishment of industrial cities program which is one of the most important arms of government in the development and operation of labor and human highly qualified professionals in the industry.
